User vs Bot Tracking

See who's really
visiting your pages

Distinguish human visitors from search engine crawlers. Track bot activity by type (Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.) and see exactly which bots are indexing your pages, robots.txt, and sitemaps.

How it works

Automatic detection

Step 1
SDK pings

When your page loads, the SEO Manager SDK sends a ping with the request's user-agent header.

Step 2
Bot detection

We match the user-agent against known crawlers (Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and more).

Step 3
Separate counts

Human visits and bot visits are counted separately. Bot activity is also broken down by page, robots.txt, and sitemap.

Step 4
View in dashboard

Open Reporting & Analytics to see Human vs Bot page views and bot-level breakdowns by crawler type.
